The club has a total membership of over 250. At the present time, 42 are former apprentices
of Morris Commercial Cars.
Having completed their engineering apprenticeships, many stayed in the motor industry,
either working for British Leyland (later called MG Rover) or returning to
family businesses, at the retail end of the trade.
Some decided to move to other manufacturers, whilse others left the industry
to pursue a career in completely different fields of activity.
The club's popular, if at times overworked, technical correspondent and club archivist
was not apprenticed to Morris Commercial, but was employed by the firm
as a technical engineer and advisor in the service technical department.
Whenever we hold a rally, it is always a good to meet up with former colleagues
who served their time at Adderley Park. Other members, restorers and preservationists
are also always pleased to see and speak with people from the old factory.
